Wayne Reed Battaglia of Hampton Bays Dies February 7

Wayne Reed Battaglia of Hampton Bays died on February 7 at Peconic Bay Medical after a short Illness. He was 73.

He was born on November 10, 1950, in the Bronx. His parents, Michael and Elaine Battaglia, moved their family to Shirley in 1956. He attended the Longwood School District.

He was a twin with his brother Michael, who predeceased him in 2013. Battaglia was a tremendous mechanic and worked for various dealerships for over 40 years. He was proud to work in his last job for National Golf Links of Southampton.

He took pride in his professional and experienced work ethic and was proficient in every aspect of automotive, lawn equipment, and also computer maintenance and renovation.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Berger) Battaglia; and his brother Chris, wife Audrey and daughter, Elaina of New Mexico.

Services were held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Center Moriches at graveside.
