We See You

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate Ed Simioni on his great victory for village trustee — I am so pleased that our community saw Ed for the man he is. And I congratulate Josh Belury for running for trustee. I only wish we had garnered enough votes to have two new trustees.

Having said that, I would like the community to know that Rose Dios and Dane Neller were unceremoniously taken off the Budget and Finance Committee and replaced with Gina Arresta. I think that the community had spoken. To appoint Gina to the financial reins of the village seems a bit strange, almost Kremlin-like, to put Gina back in the game so quickly. And particularly when Rose Dios is a woman whose experiences make her the obvious choice.

Mayor Bill Manger then took over Gina’s position as liaison to the Public Works Department. It would have been a nice, new, fresh perspective for Ed Simioni.

So, sadly, the people of the village had spoken, and our mayor and trustees have continued to function in a manner that doesn’t seem democratic or open. Again, I must say that the governing of this sweet village seems a bit unseemly, to say the least.

I know that I find some comfort in knowing that Ed Simioni is a good man and will at least infiltrate the village politico and keep issues like these out in the open. Just note that we are all watching and listening. We see you.
