Facing Uphill Battle

A 3-1 loss to East Islip on Senior Day on Monday dropped the Bonackers to 6-5 in League IV play (6-6 overall) and they will need to win two of their final three matches to clinch a playoff spot. All three of those games are on the road against Eastport-South Manor, Smithtown West and Hauppauge, the top three teams in the league, respectively.

Loses Tight Game

The East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton football team held Comsewogue to its lowest offensive output yet this season. The problem is the Bonackers couldn’t get on the board themselves in the 14-0 loss at Comsewogue’s homecoming on Saturday. East Hampton is 2-4 in Division III.

The girls took first in all but one swimming event, and they took first and second places in five events.

Loses at Shoreham

League title hopes took a big hit for the Hampton Bays girls volleyball team (6-2 in League VI, 12-2 overall) after it lost, 3-1, at Shoreham-Wading River on Monday morning. The Baymen were hoping to win out the rest of the season, including this Friday’s home match against Bayport-Blue Point, to win the title outright, but now they’ll need some help in order to do that.
