Just prior to the holiday break, the East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton boys swim team defeated host Lindenhurst, 47-33, to improve to 2-1 in League II, 4-2 overall. Head coach Craig Brierley said it was nice to see the boys continue to perform at a high level after still not having a pool to practice in, as the East Hampton YMCA RECenter pool is being repaired. In addition to that, Lindenhurst only had a four-lane pool with no blocks, so all starts were from the floor. Bonac captains chose East Hampton sophomore Wyatt Smith as Swimmer of the Meet, impressed by his leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay that saw him close a large deficit that helped the Bonac team to touch out the other team by 0.29 to take the win. Wyatt also swam the freestyle leg for the A team in the medley relay and the 100 freestyle event, in which he finished in second place.
The East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton/Ross wrestling team had five placewinners at the Sal DiFazio Holiday Wrestling Tournament at Half Hollow Hills East on December 29 and 30. Jhojairo Contreras pinned Bobby Constantatos of Harborfields in 59 seconds to place fifth at 172 pounds and Aman Chugh pinned Kymani Joseph of Hills East in 4:55 to place fifth at 189.
After defeating host Center Moriches, 52-50, in overtime of the opening game of the Anthony Parlato Memorial Tournament on December 28, the Bridgehampton boys basketball team lost, 80-45, to Bayport-Blue Point the following day. Alex Davis scored 21 points in the loss to Bayport.
Sal Fracapane placed second at 160 pounds while Dylan Razzano (145 pounds) and Bruno Maffei (152) each placed third and fourth, respectively, at the Sal DiFazio Holiday Wrestling Tournament at Half Hollow Hills East on December 29 and 30.
