Congratulations go out this week to Lillian Schon, the owner of Lillian’s Hair Salon and Spa here on Main Street. Lillian’s painting titled “Dancing Gabby” was chosen out of 30 finalists as the 2016 annual Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce poster contest winner. Prints of her painting will now be available to purchase at the Chamber office and most Chamber events. Nice job, Lil!Westhampton Beach High School senior Lauren Bauer is looking for some assistance. Lauren is in the midst of organizing the seventh annual Westhampton Beach Amazing Rase fundraiser to benefit the Hurricane Education Foundation and needs some sponsorship help. The event will be held on Saturday, May 28, and for only a $100 donation your business can be included on the T-shirt that participants receive. If you would like to help out, you can email Lauren at AmazingRaseWHB@gmail.com by Friday, May 6.

The season begins on Saturday and the market will be open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. every Saturday until November 26, in its usual location in the big parking lot off Mill Road. I am sure the chamber will mark the occasion with a ceremonial act and welcome the vendors and shoppers for another season.

Also on Saturday and Sunday, May 7 and 8, will be the Westhampton Beach Spring Sidewalk Sale. Vendors around the village will bring some merchandise out of their stores and onto the sidewalks at discounted prices. Make sure you wander around the village and check them out.

The cost to register is $25 and riders will start assembling at 8 a.m. Refreshments will be provided along the way and prizes will be awarded to the top three riders who bring in the most donations. You can go to inletride.com and start your own fundraising page. The first 400 riders will receive an Inlet Ride T-shirt.
