William A. Baumgartner Sr. of Citrus Springs, Florida, formerly of Hampton Bays, died on April 15, at Diamond Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lecanto, Florida. He was 76.
Mr. Baumgartner was born on January 23, 1938, in Manhattan to Anton and Elizabeth Baumgartner. He was a conservation officer for the State of New York. He moved from Hampton Bays to Citrus County in 1996. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Baumgartner is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Baumgartner; a son, William A. Baumgartner Jr. and wife Amy of South Carolina; and two daughters, Marie Nicholson and husband Donald of Hampton Bays, and Regina Sawyers and husband Gary of New Jersey. He is also survived by a sister, Christine Quinlan of Patchogue; two grandchildren, Grace and Gary Sawyers; and many nieces and nephews.
The family received friends on April 18 at Heinz Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on April 19 at the funeral home with entombment at Fero Memorial Gardens in Beverly Hills, Florida, with military honors.
