William Logan

William Logan of Sag Harbor died at Westhampton Care Center on Monday, January 24. He was 89.

Born October 22, 1921 to Leroy and Mary (née Fox) Logan, Mr. Logan graduated from Pierson High School and joined the Merchant Marines briefly before switching to the Navy. He fought in World War II from 1942 to 1945 as a gunner’s mate on a destroyer in the Pacific. When he returned from war, he lived in Southampton and served with the Southampton Town Police Department for more than 20 years before he retired.

He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine, in 2005. He is survived by a son, Ronald Logan of Water Mill; a daughter, Barbara Voros of Bellmore; brothers, Francis Logan of South Carolina, and Edward Logan of Manhattan; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Voros.

A funeral Mass took place at St. Andrew’s Church in Sag Harbor on Wednesday, January 26, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery on January 28.
