William P. Laughlin, formerly of Southampton, died at home in New York City on February 25 after a brief illness.
Mr. Laughlin is survived by his sister, Linda; two brothers-in-law, Monte and Russell; his niece, Melinda; and great-nieces and nephews, Herron, Hazel and Minnie, who called him grunkle." Survivors said Mr. Laughlin was known as "Willy" to a wide circle of friends, and that he was a fount of incidental information. They said he was a sweet man, generous of spirit and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Racquet and Tennis Club, 370 Park Avenue, New York. All friends are invited.
