William T. Arkinson of Sagaponack died in his sleep on March 24, 2017. He was 79.
Mr. Arkinson was born in Saint Albans, Vermont, to Lawrence and Esther (Donovan) Arkinson. He attended Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he met his late wife Maureen Roesel of Sagaponack. They married on October 15, 1960, and raised a family of five boys, Michael, Steven, Paul, Keith and Brian. Their house was always full of kids, nephews, nieces and friends. Family was always a big part of his life and, survivors said, he was a devoted father.
Mr. Arkinson worked as an accountant at Hampton Gynecology and Obstetrics in Southampton. After he retired, he enjoyed traveling the country with his cousin Mike Denison. He valued time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. One of the things he enjoyed most was watching the Patriots—including five Super Bowl wins—and Red Sox games, with his sons.
He is survived by his sons, Michael and wife Maggie of Southampton, Steven and wife Cindy of Sag Harbor, Paul and wife Christine of East Hampton, Keith and wife Megan of Hampton Bays, and Brian and companion Rosanna Braccini of East Hampton; 11 grandchildren, Steven, Nick, Michael, Phoebe, Aaron, Haleigh, Ethan, Kade, Brayden, Travis and Brooke.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass was held on March 28 at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Bridgehampton, followed by interment at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Sag Harbor.
