Today, thanks to the strong partnership between the conservancy, the village, the town and the State Department of Environmental Conservation, Professor Chris Gobler reports that Lake Agawam is healthier than it’s been in years. The Westhampton Ambulance Volunteer Water Rescue Squad will host its second annual “Ice Plunge” fundraiser at Rogers Beach in Westhampton Beach on Saturday, December 20, at 12:30 p.m., with check-in starting at noon. Founded in 2022, the squad is a team of certified ocean lifeguards who volunteer their time and are on-call to respond to water emergencies in the area on a year-round basis. For Hampton Bays residents who’ve had to endure long lines or making longer drives to have their prescriptions filled, there’s good news.
