A woman was arrested on Friday after she tried to order a breakfast sandwich from a security booth in front of the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverside, according to the Suffolk County sheriff’s office.Lizabeth Ildefonso, 44, of Jamesport, drove up to the security booth and asked Deputy Sheriff Yvonne DeCaro, who was sitting in the booth, for a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, authorities said. When Ms. Ildefonso was advised she was at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, she “insisted that she really wanted a sandwich,” a sheriff’s office press release stated.According to the press release, Deputy DeCaro saw Ms. Ildefonso’s pupils were dilated, her eyes were glassy, and she had a white powdery residue in her left nostril. An investigation conducted by Deputy DeCaro revealed Ms. Ildefonso was driving without a valid license and she was arrested after performing poorly on standardized field sobriety tests, the sheriff’s office said.Ms. Ildefonso was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a felony, and driving without a license, a violation. She was taken into custody and held for morning arraignment in Southampton Town Justice Court in Hampton Bays. The sheriff’s office said Ms. Ildefonso consented to a blood test, and the results are pending.“She insisted that she was not impaired by alcohol or drugs and freely consented to a toxicological screening of her blood,” Southampton Village-based attorney Colin Astarita, who is representing Ms. Ildefonso, said on Saturday morning.Mr. Astarita added that Ms. Ildefonso’s bail was set at $750, and she was expected to appear in court later this week.
