Driver in Fatal Hampton Bays Hit-and-Run Arraigned on Saturday

Amanda Kempton, the 32-year-old Virginia resident who police said struck and killed Sara Burack in a hit-and-run accident in the early morning hours of Thursday morning, was arraigned on Saturday in Southampton Town Justice Court. Kempton, who was visiting family in Manorville from Virginia, was joined in court by her father and grandparents. She was charged with one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident where a fatality had occurred. She faces up to seven years in prison if convicted, according to Assistant District Attorney MacDonald Drane.
