Work Together

For 15 years, I have been a homeowner in Hampton West Estates. We have worked hard for the community to be a safe and beautiful environment, and have succeeded.

However, I am upset that I am struggling to find information about the proposed sale of approximately 24 U.S. Coast Guard houses, adjacent to our community.

There is a dire need for affordable housing, and these homes are the perfect solution for homeownership. People benefit from owning their homes and feel pride in where they living. Having a developer come in and sublet to as many people as possible to make a buck will be devastating to the community and to the people who could own these homes.

I do not understand why the Hampton West Estates Residents Association is not included in the planning — planning that has been in process for several years. We have to work together. And we vote.
