Worthy Candidate

For a few years now, I’ve read with interest Joseph McLoughlin’s letters and have been impressed by his detailed, ever-evolving knowledge of Southampton Village and how its business is carried out, as well as his love and commitment to its past and future. He is indefatigable about attending meetings and keeping up on things.

During the last election debates, I found him to be the most knowledgeable of all the candidates, including the old hands. I applaud his independence of mind, which means he is not beholden to any special interests or pushing a personal agenda.

Mr. McLoughlin, born and raised in the village, will be a valuable addition to the Board of Trustees, where he will devote all his energies full time to doing his job: To represent the interests and concerns of all residents.

I hope village residents don’t sit this election out but instead turn out and cast a vote for this worthy candidate.
