Youth Bureau Programs on Tap for This Summer

The Southampton Town Youth Bureau has two programs coming up this summer.

Wednesday Night Lights at Ludlam Park will be held on Wednesdays, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at Ludlam Park, 239 Ludlam Avenue, from July 10 through August 21.

Teens in grades seven through 12 will have the opportunity to play soccer, basketball, and no-contact boxing while learning techniques from experienced coaches in weekly clinics. Free food and DJ/music will be provided by the Southampton Youth Bureau.

Pool Nights at SYS will begin Monday, July 8, and continue through Thursday, August 15 , at the SYS Recreation Center at 1370A Majors Path in Southampton.

The pool is open on Mondays for youth going into kindergarten through fourth grade, and on Thursdays for those entering grades five through eight. Both run from 5 to 8 p.m. Round trip transportation is available from the Flanders Community Center, 655 Flanders Road. Bus leaves at 5 p.m. and will return approximately at 8:30 p.m. A bathing suit and towel are required. Life jackets are required for inexperienced swimmers.

Santa Coming to Westhampton Beach

The Village of Westhampton Beach will host its annual Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Celebration on the Village Green on Saturday, December 6, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., the Westhampton Beach Fire Department will escort Santa to the Green, joining decorated fire trucks from neighboring departments in a festive parade of lights down Main Street.
