High school juniors and seniors who are interested in attending a service academy after graduation can attend the annual Service Academy Information Day on Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at Brookhaven Town Hall in Farmingville.
Hosted by U.S. Representative Lee Zeldin, the event provides prospective students and their families the opportunity to speak with representatives from each of the five U.S. service academies. Students can also learn about Rep. Zeldin’s nomination application process.
The five service academies are the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Of the five, only the U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.
The U.S. service academy nomination application can be found online at www.zeldin.house.gov.
