While I applaud ridding the East End of defunct gas stations [“Town Planners Analyze A Trio Of Gas Station Upgrades,” 27east.com, April 5], would we be missing the perfect opportunity to build in charging infrastructure for electric vehicles?
Each of these three stations can be developed from the beginning with a few DC fast chargers, while planning for the future needs of our communities by ensuring that these stations are built for scale, as more and more electric vehicles and trucks are on the roads.
Amazon’s commitment alone to use electric “last-mile delivery” trucks, would keep these stations busy, given their new Westhampton location.
The time is now. The electric vehicles are on the way soon.
