In this week’s edition of 27Speaks, the editors are joined by Matthew O’Grady to discuss his friendship with the late “Rent” and “Tick, Tick... Boom!” creator Jonathan Larson and the history behind the Broadway musicals.

O'Grady and Larson were friends since third grade and both graduated from White Plains High School. Larson modeled Angel, the HIV-positive drag queen in “Rent,” on O’Grady.
