At Last!

Rain-soaked earth,

drenched to capacity—

Golden sunrise, anticipating

Father’s Day—

Soothing wind rustles through

the trees—A soothing sound

in itself.

For a brief moment, one forgets

the world’s turmoil—

Because the emerald green

inlet exudes tranquility.

The pair of swans leisurely

floats down toward the

powder blue bay—not a

care in the world.

Birds are singing cheerfully now—

A magnificent symphony.

At night—the stars, clear and

bright

And the low crescent moon,

Queen of the sky.

How can one worry about

colliding oil tankers in the

Gulf—Iran, North Korea—

When the Heavens are quiet and

bright

One is grateful to be alive.
