Miriam Armusewicz Guldi Of Southampton Dies May 29

Miriam Armusewicz Guldi of Southampton died on May 29, 2018 at East End Hospice Kanas Center on Quiogue. She was 79 and the cause of death was cancer.

Born on May 9, 1939, in Sag Harbor, to Julia Buttonow and George Ward, she was a 1957 graduate of Pierson High School in Sag Harbor. She worked for more than 20 years as a secretary for the Town of Southampton and the Village of Southampton, retiring in 2001.

A regular parishioner at Our Lady of Poland Catholic Church and the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, both in Southampton, Ms. Guldi was an active member of Southampton Golf Club and enjoyed travel, boating, bicycling, walking, bowling, and crocheting hats, scarves and blankets, which she donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the New York Blood and Cancer Center, and the American Heart Association.

Ms. Guldi was predeceased by her brothers, Donald and George Ward; and her first husband, Philip Armusewicz. She is survived by her sisters, Kathleen Spalding of Bay Shore, Ilene Iocono of East Hampton, and Judy Latanzio of Southampton; her husband, John Guldi of Southampton; and her son, Edward Armus and wife Jocelyn Armus; her daughter, Julie Aquilato of Connecticut; and her grandchildren, Jacob, Emma and Ellen Armus; step-children, Allison Armusewicz, Sara Moulton, Jennifer Guldi, and Jessica Clancy; step-grandchildren, Drew Armusewicz; Keriann Armusewicz; Alex Provins; John, Matthew, and Elizabeth Moulton; and Wil and Caroline Clancy; and her step-great-grandson, Knox Armusewicz.

Visitation and prayer service were held at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of April 25

Michael Martin, 58, of Montclair, New Jersey, was arrested by Southampton Town Police on April 22 at 1:02 a.m. on Old Riverhead Road in Northampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor.
