WESTHAMPTON BEACH — Wilmer Galarza Munoz, 30, of Riverhead was arrested by Westhampton Beach Village Police on May 13 at 2:30 p.m. on Dune Road and charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor. Octavio Solorzano-Munoz, 45, of Hampton Bays was arrested by Southampton Town Police on May 12 at 3:36 a.m. on East Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays and charged with aggravated DWI. According to police, Solorzano-Munoz was involved in a motor vehicle accident in which he struck a stopped vehicle. Police said that he had bloodshot, glassy eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was taken to police headquarters for processing.

The Westhampton Beach Board of Education will look different next year now that newcomers Daniel Bennett, Ryan Fay and Dr. Jennifer Neumaier have been elected to the board. While Westhampton Beach voters came out Tuesday in support of a tax cap-compliant $64,879,213 budget for the 2024-25 school year, 549-129, voters had a more difficult choice selecting three of six candidates seeking a spot on the board.
