Above And Beyond

Above And Beyond

It seems that, all too often, there is far too much negativity in the world. We tend to be quick to judge and don’t say thank you nearly enough.

I am writing this letter to formally say thank you to Dominick Abbate and all the staff at Brockett Funeral Home. My hope with this letter is to shed light on both the integrity and kindness of this young man and his business.

A year ago, my husband and I went to Brockett Funeral Home to make plans for that time which we hate to plan for, or even consider. We met with Dominick, and he walked us through the process and planning with the utmost kindness and understanding. He provided us with a complete sense of peace that everything would be taken care of and all wishes would be fulfilled.

On October 8, 2019, my husband passed away peacefully at home. When the time came, we called Dominick and, from the moment he stepped into my home, his kindness and understanding was more than amazing. He helped me through my grief and left me with the reassurance that my husband was now in the best of care.

While it is never an easy time, and one that I had never before experienced, Dominick and the staff at Brockett Funeral Home made it easy and seamless. They handled every element, from the wake to the funeral, to the burial upstate, and took the pressure and load off my family and me.

All the way through to the burial, Dominick’s kindness and compassion shone through like a guiding light and helped me through my grief. He is one amazing young man who could empathize with the fear and loss of someone becoming widowed at the age of 86.

Dominick went above and beyond — he even called me at home the following week to see if there was anything more that he could do. I don’t know if this is the norm, or even expected in today’s world, but his character and genuine nature are something to be admired.

Kudos to his family for raising such a compassionate, kind and loving young man. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
