A Classy Lady

Kudos to Steve Kotz for his excellent summation and description of Elise “Weezie” Quimby’s life. His writing is most certainly worthy of the classy lady we all knew and loved [“Elise Quimby, A Fixture In Bridgehampton, Dies At 85,” 27east.com, May 13].

Among the excellent testimonials of Weezie’s very giving life was a simple, skimmable mention of her attending St. Catherine’s School in Richmond, Virginia. That school’s motto is: “What we keep, we lose; only what we give away remains our own.”

For me, that motto sums up the ebullient Weezie I knew and what Steve Kotz and others expressed.
