A Special Day

Thank you to all the super-generous sponsors and all the police/fire/EMS agencies who helped make the graduation for Southampton’s Class of 2020 a huge success! From flowers to gift bags, it was a great community effort.

Starting with Southampton’s mayor, Village Board, Public Works and Police departments, which provided the stage, and helped spruce up and secure the route. East End radio station WLNG and the senior class advisors did a fantastic job of placing each graduate in the limelight that our graduates richly deserved. Special thanks to Suffolk County Police Department’s aviation unit for kicking off the celebration, Sheriff Errol Toulon for his special message board, and the Southampton Fire Department for both their American flag and the graduates’ flag.

Thanks also to the school staff, Board of Education, Shinnecock Nation Council, neighbors, businesses and visitors who waved and cheered for our kids as they paraded through the village and walked across the village’s stage.

It’s been a school year like no other, and by every account our kids and families will never forget that special day.
