It was with regret that I read Penny Wright will be retiring from her position as the director of the adult programs at the Rogers Memorial Library [“A Bittersweet Goodbye: Penny Wright Retires From Rogers Memorial Library,” 27east.com, November 10].
The community has benefited as a result of Penny’s intellect, curiosity and personality, which enabled her to attract top-notch musicians and knowledgeable professionals to perform the concerts and lead the programs that we have enjoyed throughout her tenure at the library.
A big thanks to you, Penny — and as to the “sad-happy” feeling, your retirement is definitely sad for the library and community at large.
