This week, the Parrish Art Museum begins “Parrish Pairings” — a series of three intimate conversations between leading artists, avid collectors, and the museum’s new director, Kelly Taxter. The dialogues will focus on significant topics in the art world today and explore the intersection of creativity and collecting. Participants may engage with panelists, ask questions, and gain new insights.
The series will be presented in real time on Zoom, held over consecutive Sundays beginning March 7 with very limited capacity. All proceeds benefit the museum’s exhibition and education programs.
Multi-media Parrish collection artist Clifford Ross, whose intensive experimentation in photography elevated the process to an entirely new level, will speak with collector, curator and philanthropist Beth Rudin DeWoody.
Artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset, who explore the relationship between art and design while addressing social and cultural issues, will speak with collector and former Parrish board member Chad Leat.
Collection artist Sheree Hovsepian, who uses film-based cameras, light-sensitive paper, objects, and the human body to produce her acclaimed assemblage, will speak with Parrish Director Kelly Taxter.
