Through outdoor recess and the occasional mask break, Sag Harbor Elementary Students have been strengthening their literacy skills, spending time with friends on the playground and working on their team building skills.

The Southampton High School girls varsity field hockey team recently raised $5,400 for the Coalition for Women’s Cancers at Southampton Hospital. The athletes raised the money by assisting with a car wash and lemonade stand sponsored by Southampton Elementary School’s Rotary Club. They also hosted a T-shirt fundraiser during Southampton High School’s homecoming games.

The annual event was sponsored by the school’s guidance department. Wearing orange shirts and face masks, the students created a paper “unity quilt” with each quilt piece representing a student’s thoughts on acceptance, kindness and inclusion. All of the pieces will be “sewn” together and displayed in the school’s main hallway.
