I applaud your May 12 editorial, “Time To Talk.” School consolidation is the right thing to do and long overdue.
The work for the Southampton/Tuckahoe consolidation has been done. The greedy, selfish residents of the Southampton School District voted against this proposal — but the state can mandate the result. This consolidation would benefit the students, provide more efficient government, and provide some relief to the oppressed taxpayers in the Tuckahoe School District.
