Michael J. Zingarelli, Formerly Of The East End, Dies June 12

Michael J. Zingarelli, formerly of the East End, passed away unexpectedly on June 12, 2022 at the age of 76 at his home in Sarasota Florida with his wife Marilyn by his side. He was born on June 13, 1945 in Bayonne, New Jersey to the late Harriet and Nicholas Zingarelli of White Plains New York. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1972. In the mid 70’s Michael and his first wife Donna, opened Michael’s Restaurant in Maidstone Park, East Hampton. He enjoyed and excelled as a hands on proprietor of a popular dining spot until 1984.

He moved on to property managing for several private estates including Indian Creek Island, Florida, Sun Valley, Idaho and finally returning to his much loved Hamptons.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 36 years, his son Noah Zingarelli and wife Alex of East Hampton, N.Y., his sister Maryann Gazzini and husband Victor of Katonah, N.Y., his sister Joan Zingarelli and husband Auggie of New York, New York and his nieces and nephews Michael, Victoria, Patrick, Olivia, Zachary and Katy. He is predeceased by his granddaughter Mia Bella Zingarelli, his sister Alice Zingarelli and sister Bonnie Zingarelli.

Michael enjoyed a full life and will be remembered for his open heart, wonderful smile, infectious laugh and a hand he so freely offered. He was pleased to have inherited his grandfather’s eye brows and wore them with pride. Michael loved his family, friends and extended AA family of which he was an active member for 41 years.
