Feeling Beachy

A hearty group of environmentally interested souls withstood the strong winds and frigid temperatures on Saturday, December 10, to plant various grasses at Long Beach. The shoreline grasses, goldenrod, Virginia rose and beach plum were supplied by the Marine Bureau of Cornell Cooperative Extension.

Two Southampton Town officials, Councilman Tommy John Schiavoni and Parks and Recreation Director Kristen Doulos, joined the volunteers in planting these much-needed plants. The Noyac Civic Council again mustered some 40 adults and Pierson Environmental Club students to continue the Long Beach planting program that began last April.

Together, these entities continue to make a difference by working together.

The Noyac Civic Council wants to thank everyone who joined in the fun. We look forward to continuing this program at Long Beach, the jewel of Noyac, in spring 2023.
