Could Have Asked

Thank you for inviting me to be part of the Express Sessions event at the American Hotel on March 9 to discuss the topic of “Sag Harbor: The Future of Main Street” [“Express Sessions Panel Ponders Future of Sag Harbor,” 27east.com, March 15].

At one point during the discussion, I was referred to as a “developer,” and was admonished that the village has never had a developer in the mayor’s office.

I am not, nor ever have been, a developer. In a career spanning 40 years, I have built over 60 homes on the East End for individuals to live in, designed for them by architects.

The person who labeled me thusly showed an utter disregard for the truth, as they could have easily asked me directly about my work history prior to making this statement.
