Bay Street Theater is now taking applications for summer 2019 college interns in the fields of acting, stagecraft, lighting and sound, wardrobe, box office, administration, marketing, development and more.

The Sag Harbor venue is once again offering young people opportunities to work alongside trade professionals, many with Broadway credentials.

“For over 27 years, the Bay Street Theater College Internship Program has introduced hundreds of aspiring young theater practitioners to all aspects of the professional theater,” Artistic Director Scott Schwartz said in a statement. “Our interns are an integral part of our company; they work closely with award-winning artists and take leadership roles in creating the work on our stage. Here at Bay Street, we continue to be a leader in arts education and career development for talented young professionals.”

The internships will include workshops, training sessions, master classes, and team building opportunities, according to Bay Street.

Entering its second summer, Bay Street’s “Apprentice Initiative” will add four acting apprentice interns as well as a directing/producing apprentice. All interns will work on an August production directed, performed and designed solely by the interns under the supervision of Mr. Schwartz with the associate artistic director and the technical department heads.

The Summer College Internship Program runs from May 20 to August 17, 2019. For production/technical interns, priority consideration is given to those who are available for extended weeks from May 13 to September 2, 2019. The application deadline is January 14, 2019, for priority consideration and after January 14 by availability only. Interested applicants can visit baystreet.org/page/internships for more information and to apply.
