Choral Society Of The Hamptons Offers Summer Concert

authorStaff Writer on Jun 23, 2022

The Choral Society of the Hamptons brings back its annual summer concert after an absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Performances will be offered at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 25, at 5 and 7:30 p.m.

This celebration of music features “Coronation Anthems: Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened” and “Zadok the Priest” by Handel and “Lord Nelson Mass” by Haydn, providing a rare opportunity to hear this piece performed live.

In addition to its own members, the Choral Society will be joined by soloists Michael Celentano, Michael Cheng, Nicole Karrs, and Heidi Schneider and accompanied by the South Fork Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Song-A Cho and guest conductor David M. Brandenburg.

“We are so excited to perform Haydn’s ‘Lord Nelson Mass,’ perhaps the single greatest work of one of history’s most prolific composers,” Brandenburg said. “Strings, organ, trumpets, drums, operatic soloists, and the chorus join forces for this dramatic and joyful masterpiece.”

In keeping with current COVID-19 protocols, tickets are being sold in advance only, and proof of vaccination as well as masks will be required for entry. Tickets are $35. Preferred seating tickets are $75 and discounted tickets for students ($20) and children ($10) are also available at choralsocietyofthehamptons.org or 631-204-9402. The Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church is at 2429 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton.
