Departing from their eclectic cabaret, Our Fabulous Variety Show will tackle Broadway with “Godspell,” opening Friday, July 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Southampton.

The 1970s musical, written by Stephen Schwartz with a book by John-Michael Tebelak, is a modern-day retelling of the New Testament parables based on the Gospel of Matthew. For the OFVS production, the cast of characters will often use their own names as they explain the teachings of Jesus Christ. The production will be directed by Linda Contino, with choreography by Anita Boyer.

Opening night is Friday, July 19, at 7:30 p.m. Additional performances will be held on Saturday, July 20, at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 21, at 1 p.m., and Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20, or $35 for VIP admission, which includes early entry to evening performances at 6:30 p.m. for hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, live music and photos with the cast members before the show. For tickets and more information, call 259-3380 or visit brownpapertickets.com/event/392323.
