In conjunction with The Church’s Knowledge Fridays series, on Friday, December 1, at 6 p.m., Jennifer Tripp and Mark Lubell, experts in the world of fine art photography and co-curators of the photography component of The Church’s fall exhibition “RE:CYCLE: The Ubiquitous Bike,” will share reflections about their contribution to the show. Tripp and Lubell will give a curatorial tour that explores the works in the show and discuss their experience of life and work, leading to their relocation to Sag Harbor.

Tripp, now an independent curator, advisor and founder of Tripp Projects, has had a successful career with an emphasis on collaboration, partnership and exhibition curation. Working with leading contemporary artists, advisors and international institutions, she comes to The Church with years of seasoned grace in developing a visual narrative. Lubell, who served as the executive director of the International Center of Photography (ICP) from 2013 to 2021, was named “Innovator of the Year” in 2007 by American Photo, and continues a legacy of highlighting community and public programs. Both Tripp and Lubell come to The Church with years of transformational prowess and bring to the community a presentation of world-renowned photographers who highlight the individual’s narrative and their connection to the ubiquitous bike.

After a curatorial tour of the exhibition, and following a discussion with the two, there will be a Q&A.

Knowledge Fridays, held the first Friday of each month, highlight locals with various backgrounds and careers. The program allows the audience to meet and learn about dynamic, inspiring and fascinating East Enders. It is a monthly program open to the public and free to members of The Church.

Tickets are $10 (free for members with reservation). For more information, visit thechurchsagharbor.org. The Church is at 48 Madison Street in Sag Harbor.
