Ashawagh Hall presents “Like No One,” a solo exhibition featuring paintings by Michael McDowell, an artist whose six-decade career has been devoted to refining a voice that bridges observation and imagination. The show runs Friday, October 17, to Sunday, October 19, with an opening reception on Saturday, October 18, from 4 to 8 p.m.

McDowell’s works combine abstract expressionism and realist form, revealing both a deep respect for tradition and a personal approach that feels refreshingly distinct. The exhibition highlights his ongoing dialogue between emotion and structure, movement and stillness — offering viewers a glimpse into an artist’s lifetime pursuit of balance, depth, and painterly truth.

Curated by Haim Mizrahi, “Like No One” celebrates the quiet authority of an artist who continues to explore the possibilities of paint and perception. Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs Fireplace Road in East Hampton.
