Niinth Year For Birdhouse Auction

The ninth annual Birdhouse Auction, benefiting the Coalition of Women’s Cancers at Southampton Hospital and Lucia’s Angels, will be held on Saturday, October 19, at the Peter Marcelle Gallery in Bridgehampton.

Art fans, collectors and philanthropists will have the opportunity to view more than 80 birdhouses, created by local artists, and place bids from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The annual event was founded by East End artist and breast cancer survivor Karyn Mannix.

“We always hold the auction in October, which is breast health awareness month, in hopes that it will be the perfect reminder for all to make an appointment with the doctor for your annual health check,” she said in a press release issued last week.

Tickets are $25 and $30 at the door. Absentee bids can also be placed online at karynmannixcontemporary.com.
