Parrish Art Museum Offers Resident Benefits Cards To Southampton And Tuckahoe School Districts

For the first time ever, the Parrish Art Museum is offering a Residents Benefits card, much like a library card, to Southampton and Tuckahoe school district residents and employees.

Available immediately, the Residents Benefits card allows free admission to the museum’s galleries and to selected programs, discounted admission to workshops, and invitations to exhibition openings throughout the year.

Created to “enhance communication and engagement with the community,” according to museum officials, and encourage year-round participation, the program also recognizes this specific group’s support of the museum following the annual vote on the tax levy, which has been collected since at least 1973. On April 9, Southampton School District voters approved the annual tax, which will collect approximately $327,000, by a margin of 101-77.

“The Resident Benefits card is an invitation to make the Parrish a meaningful resource for the residents who have supported the museum through the annual tax levy for 42 years,” Parrish Deputy Director Scott Howe said in a recent release. “We want to reach as broad an audience as possible, and we hope to see all of our neighbors actively involved in the life of the museum throughout the year.”

Eligible participants can apply for the Resident Benefits card just as they would a library card—online or in person at the museum. Those who sign up online can pick up their cards at the museum, and those who apply in person will receive their cards in the mail. Residents are requested to show a driver’s license, or other official ID, to verify address for proof of eligibility, and district employees will need employee IDs.
