The Leiber Collection will present “Puccini ed Amici (Puccini & Friends)” with world-class opera singers, soprano Ashley Bell and baritone Daniel Sutin, back by popular demand following their sold-out August concert. On Saturday, October 11, at 3 p.m., Bell and Sutin will perform in the Garden at The Leiber Collection. Accompanying them on piano will be accomplished pianist Christine Sutin. Doors open at 2 p.m. for museum viewing and seating. Rain date is October 13 at 3 p.m.
This special afternoon will honor the genius of Giacomo Puccini, whose operas have captivated audiences in the United States for more than a century. The program will include beloved arias and duets from La Bohème and Madama Butterfly, as well as rarely performed gems from Edgar. In the spirit of friendship and artistic exchange, the concert will also feature works by Puccini’s contemporaries and colleagues, including Ruggero Leoncavallo, best known for the timeless Pagliacci.
With the powerful voices of Bell and Sutin bringing these masterpieces to life, “Puccini ed Amici” promises an unforgettable afternoon of music, passion and artistry amid the beauty of the Leiber Collection’s gardens.
Baritone Daniel Sutin has performed roles including Scarpia in “Tosca,” Don Fernando in “Fidelio” and title roles in “Rigoletto” and “Eugene Onegin,” with appearances at the Metropolitan Opera and European houses.
Soprano Ashley Bell has sung roles such as Leonora in “Il Trovatore,” Cio‑Cio‑San in “Madama Butterfly,” and Violetta in “La Traviata,” in the U.S. and abroad, and has debuted at Carnegie Hall.
Christine Sutin has served as accompanist and musical director in concert, theatrical and cabaret settings, including recent stage credits in “Jersey Boys,” “Six: The Musical” and “Kinky Boots” for Norwegian Cruise Lines, and opera productions of “West Side Story” and “Sweeney Todd.”
