The Parrish Art Museum will present a live outdoor concert by Revel In Dimes, playing music from their debut album “The Parlour” on August 4 at 6 p.m. The band, which performs original music that melds rock, blues and jazz, features lead vocalist Kia Warren, Eric Simmons on guitar, Washington Duke on drums and Chris “Premo” Waller on bass.

“I look forward to the band’s unique blend of ambiances, from Brooklyn grit to Montauk surf-shack and a road trip out West. Simmons’ electrifying guitar and Warren’s velvety-raspy voice are the perfect sounds for a balmy summer evening on the Parrish Terrace,” Curator of Special Projects, Corinne Erni said.

The band has performed extensively in downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn, on the East End at venues including the Surf Lodge and Stephen Talkhouse and internationally in Spain and the Netherlands. At the Parrish, the band will play original music from their two albums, including “Dead & Gone,” which had its music video shot in Montauk.

Revel in Dimes had its beginnings as a duo when Simmons and Duke crossed paths on the New York City blues band scene and shared their passion for blues influencers Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside.Warren heard the duo covering “T. Model Ford” at the Surf Lodge in Montauk. Taken by their performance, she ended up singing with Simmons and Duke on a couple songs and soon after, Revel In Dimes was born. The group then found its fourth member, Waller.

This event is $12 and free for members, children and students with advance reservations strongly encouraged. The Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill. For more information, please call (631) 283-2118 or visit parrishart.org.
