The fourth offering in Bay Street Theater’s “Story Time,” a new series of readings of children’s books on Zoom by the authors themselves, will feature Susan Verde reading “I Am Yoga,” at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 24.

Verde is a New York Times best-selling author who grew up in the heart of Greenwich Village. As a kid she kept a piece of chalk in her pocket (for spontaneous hopscotch), and her skate key around her neck, ready for the next adventure. She found inspiration everywhere and loved to write all about it. Verde lives in East Hampton with her three children, their dog, Gizmo, and a menagerie of other creatures. She writes books for children of all ages and teaches kids yoga and mindfulness. Her best-selling, award-winning stories range from explorations of music, art, and museum visits to the concepts of serendipitous friendships, environmental issues, empathy, and humanity.

Offered every Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m., other authors in the “Story Time” series include Linsey Davis reading “Stay This Way Forever” on May 1; Scott Rothman reading “Attack of the Underwear Dragon” on May 8; and finally, Julie Andrews and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, reading “Simeon’s Gift” on May 15.

Parents are encouraged to purchase the books in advance so their child can read along with the authors. The series is designed for kids ages 3 to 8 and following each reading, authors will be available for a question-and-answer session with participants. Tickets for “Story Time” are $15 at baystreet.org or by calling 631-725-9500.
