The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center (WHBPAC) has unveiled the first of its spring 2024 season with a lineup that will see the theater bring in new artists, along with beloved favorites.
“We are so excited to kick off another banner year of world class entertainment and continue in our mission to transform lives through the power of live performance,” said WHBPAC’s executive director Julienne Penza-Boone.
Because (almost) everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, audiences can kick off the festivities on March 16, with U2 Decades, an electrifying tribute to the Irish pop and rock legends. Featuring Long Island singer Michael Schmidt embodying the sights and sounds of lead singer Bono, this immersive experience into the U2 catalog is a must-see for fans of the iconic band. On March 23, Grammy-winner Robert Cray returns with his signature blues-rock sound, a fan favorite for over five decades.
On May 5, the dazzling “Trailblazing Women of Country” debut their hit tribute to the female icons of the country world. The group will entertain and inspire audiences during this pivotal moment in our nation’s history, featuring soloists Miko Marks, CMT’s 2022 “Next Woman of Country” and Nashville-based singer Kristina Train, supported by a five-member all-female band.
“‘Trailblazing Women of Country’ is going to be a highlight of our spring season,” said WHBPAC marketing director Heather Draskin. “Anyone who is a fan of the music of Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and their contemporaries must experience this performance.”
On May 12, fans of guitarist Tommy Emmanuel will appreciate his virtuoso skills and wide-ranging musical style. The Australian guitarist has been dubbed a “Certified Guitar Professional” by music legend Chet Atkins, and has released over 25 albums since his debut in 1979. On May 22, the revered Allman Betts Band, founded in 2018 by rockers Devon Allman, Duane Betts, and Berry Duane Oakley, will hit the WHBPAC stage, bringing their heavy-hitting southern rock to the East End. The sons of Allman Brothers Band founders Duane Allman, Dickey Betts and Berry Oakley, this hard-rocking ensemble is a festival-circuit legend. And on June 1, the theater welcomes back perennial favorite, Americana singer John Hiatt in an intimate, acoustic evening of his beloved catalog.
“This is an exciting preview of what is to come for the rest of our summer mainstage season,” said Draskin.
All shows begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at whbpac.org or 631-288-1500 and at the box office, 76 Main Street, Westhampton Beach.
