The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center brings Kiss The Sky, the premier Jimi Hendrix tribute band, to the East End on Saturday, March 7, at 8 p.m. as it re-creates the iconic moments of one of the most exciting guitarists of all-time. From the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys’ eras through Monterey to Woodstock and more in meticulous detailed fashion, Kiss The Sky’s look and sound is the most historically accurate production of Hendrix live.
The band is fronted by Jimy Bleu, a virtuoso left-handed guitarist just like Hendrix himself, who re-creates all the famous moves — playing guitar behind his back, head, between his legs and with his teeth. Like Hendrix’s concert sets, Kiss The Sky presents accuracy in both look and sound with authentic ‘60s wardrobe and replica musical instruments played note for note by world-class touring musicians from both of Hendrix's Band of Gypsys and Experience eras. Billy Cox, Hendrix Bassist and bandmate with Band Of Gypsys, has said, "Jimy Bleu is the real deal. A Jimi Hendrix aficionado."
Complete with psychedelic liquid light effects and docu-video elements, Kiss The Sky ISS re-creates Hendrix’s most iconic moments on stage. So come experience the guitar on fire at Monterey Pop ’67, the blues of the Fillmore ’68, the electric guitar National Anthem at Woodstock ’69 and the funky Band of Gypsys & Isle of Wight in ’70.
Tickets are $38 at whbpac.org. The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center is at 76 Main Street, Westhampton Beach.
