“Watercolor Plus,” a group art exhibition featuring eight local artists, will be on view at Ashawagh Hall from Friday, October 10, to Monday, October 13. An opening reception will be held Saturday, October 11, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Participating artists are Kirsten Benfield, Nancy Brody, Barbara DiLorenzo, Laurie Hall, Beth Meredith, Janet Rojas, Jerry Schwabe and Carol Craig Sigler. The show includes paintings, ceramics, glass, photography, mixed media and more, with a wide range of styles and price points.

The artists: Benfield, originally from New Zealand, brings a vibrant sense of color and atmosphere to her East End-inspired watercolors; Brody, who moved full-time to East Hampton in 2015, finds inspiration in the region’s natural beauty and light.

DiLorenzo began painting while working in New York City and now focuses on abstract watercolor landscapes from her East Hampton studio; Hall, a former textile designer, explores painting and printmaking and is a member of several East End artist groups; Meredith began painting watercolors while teaching art aboard cruise ships and now paints regularly in Spring; Rojas, a founding member of the Water+Color+Works group, creates both representational and abstract pieces inspired by the East End; Schwabe, known for his expressive use of color and form, works in painting, photography and sculpture and has exhibited nationally; Sigler, who studied painting in Europe and New York, blends emotion and natural rhythm in her watercolors.

The exhibit marks the ninth annual “Watercolor Plus” show and the final exhibition of the season at Ashawagh Hall, located at 780 Springs Fireplace Road in East Hampton. Gallery hours are Friday from 3 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit montaukartistsassociation.org.
