Bridget A. Stavropoulos
Bridget A. Stavropoulos of East Hampton and Bridgehampton died at Southampton Hospital on Thursday, March 15. She was 77.
Born April 13, 1934, in East Hampton to James P. McNally and MaryAnn Gallagher, she was one of five children. She attended East Hampton High School and in 1972 married George Stavropoulos—a former Supervisor of Southampton Town—who predeceased her in 2002. She and her husband owned and operated the Candy Kitchen luncheonette, which Mr. Stavropoulous’s father founded in East Hampton in 1926. The couple sold the Candy Kitchen to Gus Laggis in the early 1980s, but still owned the building and remained involved.
She is survived by her siblings, John McNally of Vermont and Margaret A. Gural of Syracuse; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grand-nieces and great-grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, James and Michael.
Visitation took place on Sunday, March 18, at the Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, March 19, at the Most Holy Trinity Church also in East Hampton. Interment followed at the Edgewood Cemetery in Bridgehampton.
