Charlotte Schorr
Charlotte Schorr of Montauk died at home on April 12, after a long battle with cancer. She was 84.
Born in Hempstead on December 17, 1927, she was the daughter of Joseph and Bianca Motta. She was a retired librarian, having worked at the Montauk Library for more than 32 years, and continued her love for reading. Even after retirement, she was active with the library, serving as treasurer of the Friends of Montauk Library. She was a trustee for the Montauk chapter of AARP.
A devoted grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren when they were young, as well as into adulthood. She was also devoted to her cat, Pepino.
Ms. Schorr is survived by her husband, Robert Schorr; a daughter, Robin Scheffer and her husband Roger of Vermont; and grandchildren, Philip Scheffer of California, Daniel Scheffer and his wife Debi of Massachusetts, and Bethany McLaughlan and her husband Erik of California.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. An interment service is planned for a later date.
