Daniel Trujillo Moreno, 41, of Springs was charged with misdemeanor aggravated DWI by East Hampton Town Police the night of May 5. According to police, Trujillo Moreno was involved in an accident while riding a 2015 Kawasaki gas-powered moped. The initial call to police appears from police reports to have been made by a passerby who saw Trujillo Moreno after the accident and was concerned about his welfare. Wayne David Heaney, 44, of Brooklyn was arrested by East Hampton Town Police in downtown Montauk a little after midnight on April 29 on a misdemeanor charge of aggravated DWI. Police said Heaney was driving a 2001 Toyota Highlander on South Edison Street when he failed to signal a turn onto South Elmwood Avenue. The arresting officer added that Heaney, after making the turn, pulled over toward the side of the road and put his emergency flashers on.
