SPRINGS — East Hampton Town Police arrested Jean C. Ruiz Guaman, 23, of East Hampton early Sunday morning on a misdemeanor DWI charge. It is the third time in 18 months he has been arrested on DWI charges in East Hampton, with a fourth such arrest in that period taking place in Southampton. All four cases are still open. In addition, Ruiz Guaman has a fifth arrest on his rap sheet on misdemeanor DWI charges from back in 2022, which was plea-bargained down to a violation, before the latest string of arrests began in August 2023. MONTAUK — East Hampton Town Police arrested John Harris Kinnamon, 20, on a felony charge of possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, as well as on a misdemeanor charge of DWI early in the morning on August 13. Police said Kinnamon was behind the wheel of a 2017 Nissan van in the 7-Eleven parking lot in downtown Montauk, asleep, keys in the ignition and engine running. EAST HAMPTON VILLAGE — East Hampton Village Police arrested Jesus Omar Gonzales Hernandez, 39, of Rocky Point on a felony charge of assault in the second degree, as well as three misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child, on Sunday night. The arrest came only after Village Police tracked Gonzales Hernandez down, according to the police reports, after he allegedly fled the scene of the incident. AMAGANSETT — East Hampton Town police arrested Omar B. Fayyaz, 38, of Brooklyn around midnight last Thursday on felony charges of burglary in the second degree and criminal mischief in the third degree. Police said Fayyaz pushed his way through the kitchen window of a Shore Road residence earlier Thursday. The owner of the cottage told police she had returned home to find “a container of ice cream on the kitchen counter which I didn’t leave out.” She then heard a male voice call out a name that was not hers, adding, “I’m in here.” The woman told the voice ...

WAINSCOTT — East Hampton Town Police arrested Dennis R. Walker Jr., 53, whom they described as homeless, and charged him with four misdemeanors after a reported confrontation between Walker and officers in the parking lot at the end of Beach Lane on the afternoon of July 16. He was charged with resisting arrest, reckless endangerment in the second degree, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, along with two violation charges, harassment and disorderly conduct.
