Kate M. Agar of Westhampton Beach died on January 2. She was 92.
Ms. Agar was born May 22, 1917, in South Orange, New Jersey.
Her daughter, Alexandra H. A. McKenzie, wrote this week that “all is at peace ’neath a blanket of nature’s best. Mom, Gram, Grandma, Nana and Katie is at one with its graceful guardianship. We are charged to announced her passing through the ‘pearly gates.’
“A fitting celebration will beckon us ‘in the wink of an eye’ and the ‘lilt’ of that special blossom to reminisce the alpha omega of a great gal. As requested by our Katie, she was cremated in order to enter the peace garden of her choice.”
In addition to her daughter, Alexandra H. A. McKenzie of Quiogue, Mrs. Agar is survived by two sons, Calvin A. Agar III and his wife Debra of California and Holden B. Agar of Springs; a brother, Jean DuP Tuthill of Remsenburg; 11 grandchildren, Kate S. High, Deborah A. High and Phyllis Toste, all of New Jersey, Otis A. McKenzie of Colorado, Calvin A. Agar IV and Jeffrey B. Agar of California, and Chloe H. Agar, Vanessa J. Stevenson, Elie Stevenson, Max Stevenson and Ezra C. Stevenson, all of Water Mill; four great-grandchildren, John Joseph High, Caitlin A. Toste and Thomas J. Toste Jr., all of New Jersey, and Jeffrey B. Agar Jr. of California; and a host of other family members and close friends.
Interment of ashes will be held at a later date this spring.
