Longtime East Hampton resident Camille J. Cafiso died on January 26 at Southampton Hospital. She was 72.
Born July 23, 1937, in the Bronx to Dominic and Lena (née Fiorelli) Cardoso, she attended East Hampton High School. She was a homemaker and an avid walker. According to survivors, Ms. Cafiso should have worked for the local chamber of commerce, based on the number of people to whom she gave directions during the times she was out walking.
She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Cafiso of East Hampton and Lorraine Fiigon of Florida; a son, Vincent Cafiso Jr. of East Meadow; two brothers, Anthony Ricci and Dominic Cardoso, both of East Hampton; three grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Cafiso Sr.
The family received visitors on January 29 at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral service was held on January 30 at Most Holy Trinity Church in East Hampton, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
